Our own site owsdeals.com was updated to 1.2 O2 Internal Beta this weekend.

Here some list of whats new: (you can read more here) 

Main Script functionality:
- New Admin panel. Clean, easy to operate layout and new features. 
  - Dashboard. Shows some technical and statistical data as well as latest released version on OWS Server and most useful shortcuts.
  - All settings have appropriate controls. (you don't need to type you template name anymore, you could just select it from the drop-down list)
  - User management. You can add/delete users and manage theirs publishing rights.
  - Delayed publishing. Specify start time and you can publish seals and coupons in advance.
  - New! Smart RSS Import tool. System will try to guess tags and categories during import based on the deal title.
- New user management system. We dropped mytoppix forum from the installation. By default script will come with its own user management system.
- New simple comments system instead of forum. (registered users can just post comments, guests have to enter anti-spam captcha code).
- Add/Manage Custom pages. Add "About Us", "Privacy Policy" or any other custom page right from the admin panel.
- Template Based e-mail system. Customize the layout and contents of e-mails from your site using the same smarty-based templates.

Site functionality:

Site functionality is completely based on templates so we could not called this new features.
We just add new template examples to show how powerful is the system. A lot of people asking for "Coupons only" configuration, so some of this features mostly suitable for this type of sites)

- Coupons by Store, Coupons by Category
- Deals can be grouped by Dates with Collapse/Expand functionality.
- New category template with Sub-Categories and Stores
- Vote for deals/digg style functionality

We are very pleased to announce two very important things today.

1. OWS Deals/Coupons Website Script is fully integrated with a "soon to be open for pubic" service called ForMeToCoupon .

ForMeToCoupon offers an automated, customized affiliate coupon feed which consolidates 6466 deals from 1805 merchants across all major affiliate networks in a standard format. It covers all kinds of deals -not just coupons - but also rebates, clearances, and free shipping deals. You will not find a more comprehensive, more reliable, or more cost effective coupon feed for you to coupon.

2. New version released today. It has ability for FMTC Integration and a lot of improvements and bug fixes to the previously released RSS and other feeds import.

We are very happy to anounse the release of the version 1.1.0.70.

Main highlights:

1. Deals and Coupons import from RSS and other types of feeds. We've created the 3 step convertor from feed item to our deal/coupon object. We are responsible for the steps 1 and 3 - getting the feed and inserting deal/coupon to the database. The step 2 - conversion is really up to you. You can write you own plugin and use virtually any feed. We have included three examples for you: RSS Feed from CJ, RSS Feed from LinkShare and Deals Feed from the store.

2. SEO optimizations.  Automatically generated Sitemap is totally valid and acceptable by google. Your choice of space replacement for URLs. ("_","-", etc)

3. Expired deals management. You can review and remove expired deals/coupons from the admin panel. 

4. Similar deals module. 

5. Video coupons. 

6. Lots of bug fixes and small improvments. 

Just to let you know we are still good for the March 1st release date. However there are some changes in the list of “what will be included”. Bad news is that it seems like we have to sacrifice new e-mail system for this release.  Good news is that we didn’t just lost all the time that we planned to invest in the e-mail engine.  Instead of it we have created automatic sitemap generation module.  Sitemaps is a very important part of SEO and we think it is more important to release it first.

PS: Low cost Light Version is announced. You can get it as a turnkey ready-to-go website.

I just want to give you an update on what is going on with our development.

New version is on its way. We expect it to be released on March 1st.

Here is a small list of what is suppose to be included:

1. Most asked and long awaited module to batch import Deals and Coupons from RSS and some other feeds.

2. Rebuilded e-mail system. All e-mails are going to be generated using the same template system as site pages, so you will be able to format and modify e-mail content.

3. New Module/Template to show some statistics.

4. Item Price history/Similar Deals/Related Deals Module.
